02 / Design and practical value
The main drilling system uses a mechanical transmission, with predominantly hydraulic controls. It differs structurally from the SDC-1000 hydraulic top-drive rig; equal rated depths do not make them interchangeable.
The handbook lists rotary-table drilling with direct mud circulation as the primary method. Bore diameter, formation, drilling fluid and casing must be assessed together.
The handbook gives a maximum pump flow of 1,500 L/min. This upper equipment rating is not the circulation rate at every bore diameter or depth.
The handbook lists a 29 t rig and an 11 / 15 m effective mast height, depending on configuration. Check road access, ground bearing and overhead clearance.
